Dag Vijf, Winkelen in Hoorn

(Day 5, shopping in Hoorn)

Day 5 was a relaxing day at Mariëtta and Jeroen’s house before going shopping in downtown Hoorn. We picked up some souvenirs for family, as well as ourselves, and saw a statue representing the guy who founded the Dutch East Indian Trading Company. The statue is called ‘The Red Stone’ because of how many people he executed. He sounded pretty ruthless.

That night Mariëtta drove us to Bart and Esther’s in Amsterdam where we will stay for the rest of our trip.
